have vitamins made a difference to sa?

I am nervous today! We are awaiting a SA result which has followed a radical diet change and 10 weeks of fertalism vitamins.

DH has had 3 tests so far. First one prompted a repeat which showed a count of just 0.1 million/ml and a forward progression of 4% with overall 8% motility. A further test showed zero zero zero.

He has since had an USS which was normal and hormone bloods which were normal. We see the urologist next week to discuss if we can try icsi or if were looking at donor or adoption.

But today, we are getting the SA results back. I am trying to expect it to be zero as it most likely will be and i don't want to be disappointed. But maybe the diet and vitamins will make even a tiny difference that will make icsi easier? just maybe?

It can absolutely have an effect.
Has he been taking proxeed?
The urologist should be able to offer advice and possible medication also depending on the results...

You must have been so nervous. What were the results? How are you and your husband today?

Look into high dose vitamin c and e, coq10 and omegas (epa and dha). Putting my dh on this regime resulted in my ds. My dh had multiple sa's over 4 years. 3 mi this after introducing the shipments he was classes as normal. Even the DNA fragmentation was being resolved.

No change, all zero still :-( so now we won't get NHS funding and waiting to see consultant to see if surgical retrieval is a viable option. I'm numb. Not distraught like when we first found out though but just feel numb like this can't be happening. I'm sure in a few days be fine though. Not seen DH yet but he says he's ok - over text! We will get through it, it's just so sad. X

I'm so very sorry. I really hope there are options for you and its not the end of the road.
Well done. You seem really brave and together. Watch dh though. They often say they are fine but it builds up over several months. It's a really hard thing for a man to deal with isn't it?

Thank you. We both had a little cry yesterday and a long chat. we are going to see what consultant says next week. DH wants to know if they find sperm surgically and use it in Icsi what the risk is to child and will boys inherit his infertility. If there is a risk of health problems or passing on infertility he wants to go for donor. So we have options they just aren't options we would normally have chosen. We have a very strong marriage so have a lot to be thankful for.

Have you seen Mr Ramsey privately in London? He seems the best guy for the job?

Funny enough we saw the urologist last week and he is referring us on to see Ramsay so now just waiting for that appointment to come through. We're getting good at waiting :-)

Great to hear! Did you see him privately or NHS? I'm wondering how long the referral is likely to take. I guess I should anticipate the whole 18 weeks.

Private for us as GP refused to refer to any urologist as could not get any fertility treatment on NHS - and we are not London based either. Advantage was a quick wait I suppose, about 2 weeks to find a day my Dh could travel to see him.
