blood test results

So I've got my latest blood test results LH and FSH done again as the last lot expired while we were waiting for to get to the top of the IVF queue. So here are the results......

SERUM FSH LEVEL 5.6 iu/L

SERUM LH LEVEL 4.1 iu/L

Test done on day 3 of cycle.

From the previous test results done 2 years ago the FSH level was 5.6 mIU/ml and the LH was 8.2 mIU/ml

Can someone please help me change the readings into English lol. I'm going back to the ivf clinic next week but I do like to know what the results mean before I get there.

Sigh so if I'm reading correctly then if my FSH is higher than my LH it indicates a low ovarian reserve :( Which would be just my luck........

To be honest I think your results are normal. Low ovarian reserve is indicated by fsh levels over 10. I have low ovarian reserve myself- my fsh was 12! So I think you are fine.

I hope so :( All I can find online is about LH levels being higher than FSH and nothing much about the other way round!

Looks completely normal to me for Day 3. Good luck with your treatment.

I wouldn't take any notice.

I was told my egg reserve was non existent. It devistated me. A nurse phoned and told me. That was at a private clinic.

12 months later I was accepted out of the blue for one round of IVF on the NHS I'd forgotten I'd been referred. I went on to harvest 18 eggs which is amazing. Just wait till you speak to your consultant.

Seperately my levels are fine as far as I can make out. It's finding out what it means together I'm having a problem with :(

Have you joined a fertility forum? There is a wealth of knowledge on there of women that have been through this many of times.

So I had another ivf appointment yesterday, they looked at my tests and said they were fine so one less worry :) Picked up my meds and needles, ready to start mutilating myself in 2 weeks lol. Trying to remain positive! Hard thou when there are so many hurdles to leap before you even have a small percentage that the egg will implant!
