Hoping someone can advise me on something my husband pointed out today regarding the smoking test. As part of his employment he is a welder, he has quit smoking as have I but im worried that the machine will pick up the fumes from him just doing his day to day work :( How can we prove that he isn't a smoker if he ends up getting a higher reading than they allow for ivf on the nhs?

I think it measures carbon monoxide in the lungs - I don't think it will be present in such measurable amounts if you don't smoke?

Can you call the clinic and ask?
