finally got my appointment!

after fighting the CCG for NHS funded IVF, lots of lost paperwork, many, many phone calls, i finally received my first consultation appointment for just over 2 weeks time!!
now i'm just scared and nervous!!
i had 1 round of private IVF last summer, which was unsuccessful, then i asked to seen through the NHS but was turned just because i don't have a partner, got a solicitor and luckily won my human rights to have NHS funded IVF, but it's taken over 6 months of paperwork not going to correct places and many phone calls to actually get the first appointment, think i never thought it would actually happen!!
any tips welcome!!
i know i've done all this before but that was at a local clinic near me, all the NHS treatment will be done in Harley Street!

I'm sort of on my first round of private IVF... I say sort of because treatment was abandoned after EC due to OHSS. Currently waiting to be better before having one of my frozen blasts put back.

What advice were you after? Xx

Oh I see, well I haven't had nhs so I can't help really. Although I do know that when going privately you have the option of things like embryo glue/embryoscope at some clinics, which you definitely can't have through the nhs.

ahh that's interesting to know as i had the embryo glue last year, i didn't know it was a private clinic thing!

I imagine you will find it the same but with no extras like embryo glue, immune tests/treatments, Embryoscope etc. NHS rules are one embryo transferred and freeze the rest, which gives chance of more attempts or a sibling.

Do you get a choice of donor sperm, ie from UK or abroad - worth asking as some prefer traceable spermatozoa and some do not.

Worth asking whether they recommend a short or long protocol based on lack of eggs produced last cycle.

Is this an appointment to start treatment or just to join a queue - as NHS varies as to waiting times due to their funding. People can be on a list for a long time. In my area to get NHS ivf it is one cycle and you have to wait 2yrs unless they have diagnosed a medical reason for infertility ( eg pcos). And there can be shortages of spermatozoa which can delay treatment.

From beginning testing to cycling took us 13 months on NHS.
