what blood tests should i have?

i was seeing my gp today so asked her to confirm my hormone blood tests were normal -one of the first things they requested when i first went to see them regarding fertility. I had been reassured when told they were all normal. However, the gp looked them up and found they didnt get done! i had hep b and hiv test instead which i know already from the job i do!!

so now shes requested a 21 day blood but thats it - is there anything else i need to be asking for? were being referred to fertility anyway as my husband has very low motility and count.

21 day blood test (or whatever is 7 days before AF due, mine was a day 19 test)

Ruebella
Chlamidya, HIV and the other ones, Hep B, Hep C etc

Yesterday I had some that the GP had missed and the labels on the pot were
B, PROL, HIV and I can't remember the rest but they weren't cycle specific and the nurse didn't know what they were for. But in our case the fertility clinic alerted the GP to the ones that had been missed. The hospital referring consultant didn't ask for them and actually didn't seem to have a clue.

I'd say make sure you get the cycle specific ones done as soon as you can so you don't have to wait too long and you can get the other ones done whenever.

I am booked in for the 21 day now but that's it. She's referred me to fertility anyway so god knows what her referral looked like considering theyve done no blood tests :-) I will ask about the others - thanks

Hello, you will also need a smear test, thats within 3 yrs, sorry I'm being refered for IVF as well and that was the last thing they needed..EST waiting on results to send the paperwork off.xx

you will also need a day 1-5 test - known as day 3. not sure what hormone it measures though. and chlamydia. ask for those as well. from gp
