Hi Ladies

So I have just started the whole process of finding out why it is taking me so long to conceive. I have had my day 2 bloods and HSG test. I need to have my day 21 blood test done but my day 21 falls on a Sunday this month with a bank holiday on the Monday and advice on what I should do?

Thanks in advance xx

Hi there

The day 21 bloods will prove if you've ovulated. As long as you have the test done after you think you've ovulated then it'll be fine. You'll need to have the bloods done on the Friday but make sure you tell the person taking your bloods that it's a day 19 not day 21. They might suggest you retest next month but, assuming you don't have really long cycles a day 19 test would be fine.

Good luck xxx

Do you have the results of the day 2 test back yet?. That would be useful to you. Ideally for this test they should compare the level of LH against that of FSH.

Having the day 21 test done a day or two after the actual day won't make much if any difference to the final result. Also such tests too can be done according to calendar days.

I had mine done on day 19 for the same reasons and they were happy with them. Hope they go ok for you Smile

I had mine done on day 21 and was told I hadn't ovulated but was

it needs to be 7dpo (or 7days before AF, only matters if you have a shorter luteal phase), day 21 is misleading. I'd do closest day when it falls on a weekend. personally I waited until I saw a temp spike on my chart then booked in so I knew I'd get an accurate result. didn't like the idea of being told you aren't ovulating just because I hadn't ovulated on the perfect cd14,especially as I knew I had longer cycles and sometimes ovulated cd25!!
