Egg Recovery tomorrow - should I be nervous?

This is my first round of IVF, and I have about 10 or 11 follies ready to go at 9am tomorrow morning. I'm not horribly nervous, but I'm a wee bit apprehensive. I had a rather awful laparoscopy last September and compared to that, I'm expecting this to be nothing, am I right? I won't be under GA though.

If anyone has any tips or advice to share, I'd be grateful.

Hi merricat, how are you today? How did your eggs do? Hope you are OK x

Thanks for your replies everyone, I really appreciate it - and sorry for the radio silence.

It's good news: I had my (3 day) embryo transfer today and am now have two little embryos on board Grin I feel like a proud delighted mother hen. Of the four eggs they got, three fertilised (which was a huge relief), and this morning the best two were transferred to me: an 8 cell grade 1, and a 9 cell grade 2. I giggled when I saw the wee guys make their way in. It was most extraordinary and very cool.

hope they stick x

i also had a terrible first egg removal, was in serious pain, have very high cervix and really had to jab me :( and they said i had the most drugs they could give me, and couldnt get all folicles/eggs out

dp was in room next door and said he could hear me moaning/crying in pain :( which he hated hearing

felt like crap for a few days and like bad period, but putting eggs back was like a smear (so ok)

sadly it failed and we tried again a few months later, was very worried about egg retrieval and sadly my clinic dont do ga, but we discussed my fear/the pain etc but this time they gave me a HUGE dose of painkillers before hand, had an extra nurse just for me and kept topping me up/plus was last one of morning so had all the time, rather then run late for all others

still hurt but bearable iyswim

dithering whether to do 3rd try, if we do will ask for major drugs again/extra nurse etc
