I had an ultrasound 3 years ago, done privately that showed lots of little black things in the lining of my uterus, which when I showed my nhs dr they said it must be cysts, as I have PCOS and it can cause cysts to grow everywhere.
He told me to loose weight- that was the total of the help given. Pain and heavy bleeding has got worse over the years, had another ultrasound two weeks ago, on nhs this time. The sonographer said the black things were still there and looked like polyps. So I've basically had polyps for years and they have just left them untreated.
I am so annoyed that the consultant I saw three years ago didn't want to do another ultrasound to determine exactly what it was. Now I am really scared that the polyps might have become cancerous. Everything I've read says they must be removed as soon as possible. my GP is off sick this week, the one I spoke to on the phone who stood in to give me the results said I will need to phone back next week to see what GP wants to do next. Can anyone share any positive polyp stories to reassure me while I wait to see what's happening??
