Clomid question tmi

Sorry this may seem like a ridiculous question but I am clueless. I will call clinic later but just wanted to know what others would do.
I started my period on the 9th March and finished 16th. I am due to start clomid on my next cycle. Last night I had brown spotting and this morning the same thing (tmi) but it is brownish red with stringy bits.
I don't know whether it would be a good idea to start the clomid today. I have had no usual sore boobs or period pains and I don't want to start it if its just spotting that I get sometimes due to pcos. I have only one clomid cycle free and dont want to waste it! I also don't want to delay taking it if is the start of my proper period

You count day 1 of your cycle as the first day of a proper period when you need a tampon/pad. I am now on CD2 and have just popped my firstClomid pull! Fingers crossed! What did you decide to do in the end?
