As anyone been in the same situation? And what happened?
I have had my teach got my meds and went for day 3 scans and bloods
And the nurse who scanned me seen a cyst on my left ovary so I can't start my injections on the 22nd and have to wait for an mri scan, I'm sure they said my cyst was attached to like a string coming from my ovary??

I don't know what will happen after the mri what the options are, do they operate to remove the cyst or leave it to go??

I had a cycle cancelled due to a cyst. I was advised that if the scan 4 weeks later showed it had grown it would have to be surgically removed but this may leave scarring which could possibly affect the outcome of any future embie embedding.

I was also advised that in 85% of cases they shrink & disappear of their own accord - I am part of this statistic.

They have your best interest at heart. Hard to believe but I remained positive.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Hi 18yearsoftrying

Thank you for your reply

4 weeks is that how long it took for scan? I'm still waiting on app been almost two weeks!

I had a scan in jan 2015 at my hospital because of pain where they found the cyst but said it's not on my ovary so should be fine, then my cd3 scan the first nurse had to get a second nurse to see if it was attached to my ovary, which it was!

Surely it would of gone by now if it was there in jan?? Just wish I had the appointment so I know what's what driving me mad

I'm glad your cyst went away! Really hope mine does! But by sounds of what the nurses was saying it wasn't moving from my ovary and it was attached to something??

Wish I asked questions now but it's hard to think of them while your in shock of not being able to start injections

Hope things go well for you OP. IVF is stressful enough without this. I didn't have a day 3 scan but had delays later in my treatment, once when the womb lining was too think and once when I had a polyp so I can sympathise with it not going to plan. Just wanted to say I hope it all works out for you. I have a cheeky DD as proof that despite complications IVF can work! Good luck

Hiya,
I was in the private sector due to NHS funding so things were generally (I assume although I'm happy to be corrected) fast & consistent.

My scan to see if it had gone was 4 weeks after the scan which showed it.

Unfortunately cysts do have a mind of their own and come, go, grow, shrink as they want to, there's no telling what it'll do.

If I was you I'd ring the clinic and ask about an earlier appointment.
My clinic saw how detrimental it was to me emotionally in delaying so did all they could for me.

Just to back up Sweetpeas, I also have a cheeky DD after 18 years of trying....stick to your guns!!

aliciaw85 · 18/03/2015 21:36

Aww thank you both for your messages and love the fact you both have DDs

I'm in st marys Manchester I was crying when she told me I couldn't start the injections as it's been my 4th month at requesting treatment and only started feeling positive that month!

I may ring them up and ask but she did say it can be from 2 weeks to 6 weeks for an MRI scan app (which made me cry more) I just know how busy they are there and don't want to be bothering them with questions about an appointment! But think I will lol just for my own mental state haha
