Infertility
What was your longest cycle if you have PCOS?
Beaverfeaver2 · 12/03/2015 21:55
My last cycle was 130 days.
Currently on cd 120.
Getting frustrated that there is still no sign of anything happening even after all the changes I have made to try and help it as per the recommendations!

My longest cycle was just shy of a year. Please go to the doctor op if it's getting you down.

Please see the GP
Over three months is dangerous.
I am having biopsies, facing the possibility of cancer - because I had no idea of this!

How are longer cycles dangerous? I didn't realise?
Does it actually cause cancer?

Your cells can go bad I think
I'm not totally sure. In my case my lining built up far too think and was eventually found on a scan when I started urinating blood. The consultant said I need to thin the cells down and reverse the cell changes or it will become cancer...
Maybe someone who understands the science can explain much better but I'm angry I was never told this when first diagnosed - it's only now the consultant says "well you need to have a bleed every 3 months so need medication if it doesn't happen for that long"

Bubbles is right. Went off the pill and then nothing for 7 months. The pill had been concealing the pcos. Gp was worried and I had one month of the pill to have a bleed. Something to do with the build up of cells being a possible cause of cancer. My cycles now vary between 32 and 52 days.

212 days. It was a nightmare. Now trying soya isoflavones and had a couple of decent 27 and 22 day cycles but i'm now on CD 22 and no sign of ov at all...!

I am on day 215. I spoke to my GP about this 3 weeks ago and she said there is nothing to worry about. I was told the lining isn't building up (prolly cos i'm not ovulating!!) so there is nothing to get rid of. If it built up enough, your body should get rid of it in the form of a period. Bubbles i'm so sorry that you're facing such scary things and I hope everything is ok. Beaver If you are not sure, seeking advice is obviously the best option.
