Hot flushes during 2ww? BFP or BFN? Please share.

I had hot flushes during the latter half of my 2ww for my last IVF. I know my embryo(s) implanted due to physical pregnant feeling from day 24-28 of my cycle and late period (later than other cycles where I have taken progesterone). But then my period arrived.

I have been reading that a sudden drop in estrogen levels causes these hot flushes and also that it is not uncommon for this to happen 7 days after the trigger of an IVF cycle. So now I am wondering if this is what caused my early miscarriage last cycle and if I should take estrogen during the luteal phase of my next IVF. My clinic does not do this as standard but I hear of many women on here that do.

So long story short, please share if you had hot flushes and if you supplemented with estrogen during your 2ww and if you got a BFP or BFN to help me decide what to do next cycle.

Hi, I had night sweats every single day during my 2ww!! OMG, what used to wake me up was the coldness I felt because of the dampness of the sheets and nightwear. I would be drenched, like I'd just stepped out of the shower. But the curiosity of it was that I would only sweat round my chest area?

As to the drop of estrogen you mention don't know if that could be the case as I was on 50mg of estrogen patches plus 3x200mg progesterone pessaries and still had the sweats.

Unfortunately my cycle was a BFN ;(

Thank you so much for sharing Curly. Interesting that I read this is caused by the dramatic drop in estrogen (after it peaking much higher than a natural cycle due to multiple follicles), however you were taking estrogen patches and still got the sweats.

Kinda makes me more confused if I should try estrogen after EC next cycle or not! So sorry to hear that your cycle was a BFN. Was it a good quality day 5 blast that you had transferred or is there some reason you can attribute to the BFN? Not sure if you're planning to try again but I know how hard this is and wish you well.
