ISO recommendations for private fertility testing

I'm 38 years old and my first child was stillborn at full term last October, after a perfectly healthy pregnancy.

It took the better part of 2 years to conceive our daughter, and we'd like to have another baby as soon as we can - but GP won't refer us for tests until May. She also wouldn't refer us to be tested for autoimmune or clotting disorders that could have contributed to our baby's death.

I'm fed up & anxious & would like a full fertility workup as soon as possible so that I can know where we stand and whether there's anything we could do to improve our chances.

Could anyone recommend somewhere I could go privately in London? I don't need a full-on IVF clinic, just somewhere with fertility specialists who would know what to test for and explain the results to me.

Many thanks.

Sorry for your loss. WTching with interest as would also like private tests.

Have looked at zita west clinic which offers a range of things and like their approach. But not sure of other options

Yeah, it's hard - most places you find are assisted reproduction clinics, and start with the idea that you're there for IVF. By the tame token, the off-the-shelf 'fertility MOT' packages don't seem to test for much apart from AMH levels. I just want to talk to a doctor about my history and have them decide what tests are appropriate for my situation, but that seems to be a hard thing to find.

I don't have any experience but I wondered if you'd tried calling BUPA or similar to see if they could steer you in the right direction of who to speak to privately?

I'd also maybe try another GP who might refer you earlier than May - that seems such a long time to make you wait. So sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am also shocked by your GP's attitude. I had IVF in London at ARGC to conceive my second child after 4 years of trying. They are a full on IVF clinic but they also do very thorough investigations before recommending a treatment protocol. If you can have an initial consultation with them and discuss your history they may well be able to help. All the very best of luck to you x

I'm at CRGH (Centre for Genetic and Reproductive Health), and the consultants there are more than happy to recommend / carry out tests for a full fertility work up without the expectation that you'll take up any sort of assisted conception.

I was dithering about ivf, but wanted the tests (post-ectopic pregnancy and diagnosis of unexplained sub-fertility) and never felt under any pressure to take things further once the results came back.
