AF bleed, VERY low beta 11dp3dt but test lines getting stronger??

I'm am so confused Sad

Sorry for TMI. I'll try and keep it short but there's a lot I need to ask!

I started loosing a lot of watery brown blood 6dp3dt. This isn't blood from EC or ET. It's like a light AF but brown and it has happened with my first IVF and previous FETs. This lasted until 10dp3dt when I got a full flow heavy bleed which latested around a day.

My clinic told me to do a test the next morning anyway (11dp3dt) which turned out to be a bfp! We were positive it was over so didn't get our hopes up. The clinic did a blood test and whilst I was waiting for the results I did a CB digi which said 'Not pregnant' so I knew the result was lower than 25 because they only detect 25 and above...it came back as beta 16 Sad. I was still happy we'd had our first ever bfp.

Yesterday (12dp3dt) I had planned to go out for a few cocktails with my bestie but had a feeling I should retest just to make sure! I did a digi again and it had changed to 'pregnant 1-2' with an afternoon urine. CONFUSED!

I woke us this morning and did a digi and first response. The digi still says 'pregnant 1-2' and the line on the FR seems stronger but still quite light. Slow rising hcg?

I'm having another blood test Monday but I'm feeling so numb and confused. I know it's a waiting game Sad Any words of wisdom?

I have no words of wisdom, but just wanted to tell you you have my sympathy.

I'm 9dp5dt, my OTD is tomorrow. Since 7dpt I've had really faint lines on superdrug tests (which detect 10 and above), which do seem to be getting darker and taking less time to appear but still are very faint. Meanwhile I've had some brown spotting since last night. I have no idea what is going on, but suspect its going to be a chemical pregnancy. My clinic don't do blood HCG as routine but I think I'm going to call them and beg for one on Monday. I've got a FRER for tomorrow. I wonder whether to get a CB digi, but don't think I can bear to read the words "not pregnant" in writing.

Anyway, here for hand holding. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I have my fingers crossed for you too. I always thought that brown bleeding was the beginning of the end but, although I haven't got a positive ending yet, this has changed my opinion.

I've read with a chemical, hcg doesn't go up so lines won't get stronger but it still could mean a later miscarriage. this confused me since I've bled already!

I didnt test till 15dpo on first cycle, tge bfp was very very faint. It took several days to get darker. Hopefully your hcg will have risen, doubled. Its a lot of luck what carries on growing.

You are definitely pregnant! It is possible to bleed and still be pregnant - it happens a lot, even in non-ivf pregnancies. You could just have a late implanter, hence the low beta, but your FR test is getting darker, which is only a good sign. Also, just so you know, if you're on progesterone suppositories, they can also cause bleeding! Good luck for your beta tomorrow x

I'm still really nervous about my beta tomorrow. I'm hoping it's gone up enough to be a viable pregnancy but at least we had our bfp for a little while if it's still too low! Smile I knew progesterone can cause all sorts but didn't know it could cause a full on bleed. Horrible stuff!

I can't work out if it's stronger this morning or about the same.

Naty any news this morning?

I keep looking at it and convincing myself it is darker so thanks for saying so. It's good to know what fresh eyes see

Phoenix that's definitely getting darker! Everything crossed for you HCG tmrw. Do you know what time you're going?

The brown spotting turned into definite bleeding here. It is red, but its quite watery so I don't know. It's mainly only there when I wipe. Today is OTD and I got a definite and quick positive on FRER. I'd been testing with superdrug tests up until now, so I can't really compare. I've saved my pot of FMU and was going to buy some more super drug tests when they open at 11, but I'm not sure how accurate it is on 3 hour old urine.

I'm in two minds about whether to call the early pregnancy unit at the hospital where our fertility centre is to see if they'll do a blood HCG on me today. I was going to call the unit tomorrow but I don't think I can get out of work to go and get the blood taken.

Oh I don't know what is going on. The line is getting darker right? And the CB digi said pregnant 1-2 weeks. Such a head f*ck! I have so much work to do today but really can't focus on anything else.

Yep! The line is getting darker! Call them and see if you can get an appointment!

Initially my news was bad when I got such a low beta but I appreciated knowing where I stood with it. It will at least give you hope or closure.

Turns out the clinic and EPU are both shut on a Sunday. There is an emergency room in the hospital (its a specialist obs and gynae hospital) but I can't really convince myself this is an emergency... there isn't anything they can do about it either way. So another day of stress and uncertainty it is then!

The last line in both those photos is definitely darker. Everything points to you being pregnant, even if you did have the bleed. A girl I cycled with a few years ago had low betas the first few times she had it tested, but then all of a sudden it started to increase normally and now she has an 18 month old perfectly healthy little girl.

Don't lose hope. It's looking very positive for you.

Thank you so much Ficidy, it's lovely of you to post and support. You have given me hope that this could be it but I am also prepared for the worst!
I am just hoping for the beta to be up enough to go back for another rather than writing it off there and then. Fingers crossed ladies!

Hi phoenix - how did it go today?

I'm still clueless. Still bleeding. Tests still getting darker. The clinic just said POAS in a week. A week?! I'll have lost my mind by then. There was no persuading them though, so I don't have much choice.

Oh littletalks that's pants! Can you not pay for it somewhere else? I would be going crazy if I had to wait a week. The last 4 days have sent me potty!

I had my bloods taken this morning at 8:30 and the wait for the phone call was horrid! They finally called at 2:30 to say that my hcg had risen from 16 to 123! So that means another test Wednesday to check they've doubled. More waiting but I'm still chuffed to have gotten this far after 4 failed x

phoenix - that's amazing!! I'm so happy for you. I will be willing your little embie along. Is it embie or embies? I can't imagine how hard it must have been going through IVF 4 times. I've found it so mentally difficult. I did short protocol and everything up to transfer was an absolute breeze but the mental torture since then has been immense.

My clinic is the only IVF provider in the city. I'm not sure whether maybe my GP might help but I'm fearful they'll think I'm a madwoman if I go begging. Luckily I'm working for the next 7 days which will be a good distraction. Def going to be POAS'ing every day between now and then however.

Oh phoenix, that is brilliant news! I knew it. I just had such a good feeling for you.

LittleTalks, if your lines are getting stronger, don't worry too much about the bleed. As I said to phoenix, it's actually quite common to bleed in pregnancy and still to have a healthy baby at the end of it.

Did you have a blood test littletalks?

I've started spotting brown again today which has annoyed me! Grrrr. Just hoping and praying it's the progesterone

Hey phoenix - no, still no blood test. I did another test this morning and it was the strongest positive yet. I think maybe, slightly, the bleeding is tailing off. I really hope so anyway. If it doesn't stop I'll call the clinic back later in the week and realllllly beg for a blood test.

Will you have a scan between now and 12 weeks? Or any more blood tests or anything? We have one booked for 3 weeks today. I hope we make it that far. Have you had any symptoms? I keep on thinking I feel a bit sick or much tireder than usual but it could well be psychosomatic.

Thanks for the reassurance Ficidy - lots of people have told me similar things. I hope I'm one of the lucky ones.

I am having another blood test tomorrow to see if the hcg is still going up Sad so scared! My clinic scan at around 6 1/2 weeks. I'm sure I would count as 5 weeks on Thursday if all is well tomorrow?

Hi again! Bad news here I'm afraid! My beta has only gone up to 171 from 123 so it's game over!

I have an appointment with the early pregnancy unit on Monday to take bloods and scan to check for ectopic etc.

Sad day today!
