Found out my sister in law is pregnant....happy for her, but broke my heart when I heard, I'd been feeling low about ttc, and that was the tipping point, I just don't know how much more I can take :( I'm 35 in a week, I've been ttc for prob 6 years, I've been diagnosed with PCOS, I have regular periods, according to the fertility consultant I am ovulating but only just, I get 3 bars and the egg on a cbfm (clear blue fertility monitor) each month, but I'm confused as to if I have any chance of becoming pregnant. I've had clomid, but now I'm on nothing so it feels like I have no hope of getting pregnant :( I'm waiting for my referral to ivf, there's at least a years waiting list, I just want to know if I have a chance of it happening naturally, my tubes are clear.

Oh my lovely, this is so hard :(

If it is of any help, I was in a similar position 6 years ago - we TTC for 7 years, I had PCOS and there were some other issues too.

We had ovulation induction and ended up with twins on our last go, the year I turned 36. were told it almost certainly wouldn't have happened 'naturally'.

And then unexpectedly (after one 'incident' of DTD without contraception) I fell pregnant with DC3 when the twins were just 4. DC3 is now 6 months old - and I turn 40 this year.

There is hope. I hope you get your happy ending soon.

Hi enocar
I know exactly what you are going through. I went through the very same thing this time last year. It's made me feel like a horrible person for not being completely happy for them. However now iv had time to reflect on the situation, I feel that most people would have felt that way.
You will get your happy ending I'm sure .
In the mean time we just have to be patient and positive I guess.

Hope you come on here next time with some very happy news. Xx

That's v hard. Do you have the option of going privately to get yhings moving faster?

Thinking of you x

Have you tried metformin?
Had thyroid tested?
I would consider saving up to go private with a yr waiting list.
How many nhs goes will it be?
As then only about 1/3 of every ivf cycles work. It took me a yr approx to do 3 cycles in 2014. And during that time in theory you chances of success are going down.
Or maybe try a stimulated iui?
Youve got a chance naturally but most (90%) would be pg in 2 yrs. so the chance after so long is likely to be lowish.
Have you got a high bmi as that is something you could work on while waiting.
Not sure if private would affect nhs rounds it might depend on area.
