Test results before referral

So I now have all of my test results and while I am glad the doctors seem to have ran all the tests needed - the ones I've seen to discuss my results just don't have a clue. So I am wondering if you ladies can help me make sense of them. From what I see, it all points to PCOS.

Here are my results for my 20 day cycle:

Progesterone (taken on cd14)

LH, Oestradiol, SHBG and FA Index were all abnormal

There is a classic LH;FSH imbalance which in itself is indicative of PCOS. The progesterone should have been taken a week later but as it showed 3 on day 14, it would not have made any real difference to that overall result.

You should be referred to a subfertility unit and asap.

my cycles are 20 days long so the test was done as close to 7 days before start of period as we could get

Do you spot before period?
I think long irregular cycles are more common with pcos.
How long ttc? How old are you?

BexWex · 17/01/2015 12:33

I don't generally spot, af usually lasts about 6 days. We're just turning 24 and have actively been trying for about 2 years, not using contraceptive for about 4 years

I assume as you got the prog test at the right time you are probably focussing on ttc at the start of the month?
I had 3 blood tests for prog to confirm pcos and then clinic did a scan too.
You will probably need a sperm test too.
Hopefully the gp will refer you- 4 yrs with no contraception is a long time.

We are getting referred and partner is in the process of doing his sperm tests
