Hi all. First message here but have been a lurker for the last 4 year. I wanted to share my story if it would help someone else.

Found out today that I am pregnant with my second child. I have a nine year old daughter and my husband and I have. Been trying for a second for 4 years. After 2 years of trying, we went to our GP who did lots of test for us. We found out that he had low sperm count and the motility and morphology was bad too. We were shock as I fell pregnant with my daughter after 3 months of trying. We decided to continue trying for another year even though the fertility doctor said we had very little chance. In July of last year , after months of my husband taking all sorts of vitamins with little different to his count, we decided to go for fertility treatment and was told that our only option was Icsi. We have been saving like crazy because we are not allowed ivf treatment on the nhs. In early December, we meet with the nurse who explained how to give the injections etc. I was to call in when my period arrived in January and the first injections would be 21 days later.

Only my period never showed up on. Wednesday as expected and today I tested and it's a bfp.

This was the last thing we expected . I was so ready to start treatment and drank lots over the christmas period
We cannot believe it and praying that this baby sticks.

Xx

Congratulations, what lovely news. Sure it will take a while to get your head round, especially with being all set to commence with icsi, but sure it will slowly start to sink in.

Congratulations Flowers and good luck.

DFs youngest DC was a total surprise. Her older DCs are ICSI for exactly the same reasons as you give. I recon she hadn't bothered with contraception for about ten years when he was conceived.

Congratulations! This is incredible news. You must be absolutely thrilled. I wish you all the best for a happy and healthy 9 months. Thanks

I am also phoning in with my January period to start ICSI, and just hold out that tiny tiny shred of hope that my body will get its act together after 3.5 years and we'll somehow get a natural BFP...

Good luck, Galinda!

It worked first time for my DFs and DDs best friend is now 18!

This has just happened to me too. 2 years trying for dc2, dh has poor sperm morphology, I've been devastated over finding out I have a blocked tube and a damaged one. We were just booking in for IVF consult and got a surprise bpf yesterday. Have done 3 tests as can't quite believe it. I too am hoping it sticks.

Happened to me too this time last year. 4 years TTC, 4 months of clomid and a week before our IVF referral we got a bfp and our little boy is now 4 months. Congratulations op, what an exciting time for you! X

ScarlettInSpace · 11/01/2015 17:53

Wow congratulations! 4 years into my own journey, you are all big shining beacons of hope x

Good luck Grin and try to enjoy it!

That is so lovely. Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy. And an added bonus is you have nice pot of savings to treat yourself. Flowers Smile

We conceived dc1 naturally, We had ivf with ICSI for DC2 and got pg second time when DH 's sperm count was recorded at less than 1 million. 11 months after my periods had returned after DD we conceived naturally again.
I still can't believe it- nature is so very strange and wonderful at the same time.
