Im seeing the specialist for the first time and just hoped someone could tell me what will happen.

I have PCOS and have been on metformin for almost 3 months and also have a DD from a previous relationship. She was a surprise so didn't go through any of this before.

The first appointment is one where general medical (and for you also gynaecological) histories are taken. They should ask you about how and when PCOS was diagnosed along with your current Metformin dosage. They should also ask you about your current lifestyles.

They should also arrange for you both to have further tests done.

Do not attend this appointment on your own; your man should go with you to this. Such appointments can cause considerable nerves so he can also support you as well as ask questions.

Write down anything you want to ask well ahead of time, you do not want to leave there thinking "oh I should have asked about xyz". Also no question is daft.

Thanks for your response.
Will they do any kind of tests?
I've not had a blood test since before the metformin started. I guess I feel kind of in the dark about whats going on inside me. I just want to know of the metformin has caused ovulation but have plenty of questions for the doctor
