what does progesterone level 22 mean?

My progesterone levels were tested on cycle day 21 and results came back at 22. What does that mean?

The nurse that called me for the results did not give me an explanation of what it means only told me that I can discuss the results with my doctor at the follow-up appointment.

Can someone please help? I'm worried

Also I have PCOS and took clomid days 3-7 on this cycle.

oh ok, thank you for the information. I decided to call my previous fertility doctor today to ask about it and also because earlier today I noticed a huge amount of cervical mucus. She stated that I probably did not ovulate on day 21 but most likely I'm ovulating now or going to ovulate soon since the cervical mucus is one of the signs of ovulation.

You should ideally be under the care of a consultant gynae at a subfertility unit.

A level of 22 would indicate that ovulation did not occur.

Clomid's main job is to make the ovaries work harder; this drug should be given with a degree of caution to PCOS patients anyway because it can raise LH levels (which are already high to begin with) and impede fertilisation.

Have they done a day 2 test to see what your LH and FSH levels are like now?. They should also be doing ultrasound scans to see if an egg is actually leaving the ovary.

CM is a poor indicator of ovulation and is not a sure sign of this either.

Sorry for the late reply AttilaTheMeerkat.
Yes I have left my gynecologist and now I am seeing a specialist on PCOS and infertility. He is now waiting for this cycle to end and if no pregnancy occurs, he will proceed with his own treatment which is letrozole , frequent blood work and ultrasounds to check for egg count and size. He is also not happy about my previous doctor's choice of treatment which was Clomid.

Hopefully I get a positive result soon.
