After egg collection

I had a successful egg retrieval yesterday of 10 eggs. All were fertilised via icsi and I got the call today to say 6 have fertilised. This is my first ivf and although all the nurses are very positive I had hoped for more. Has anyone had 6 fertilised day 1 and gone on to have a bfp?

That's a good result! We expect around 60% fertilisation after ICSI so well done.

Hi I had 6 fertilised out of about 12. Two were used and I have twins!!! Good luck to you. It's such an emotional rollercoaster...Xx

I had 6 fertilised and got a BFP, that was after them being frozen for 5 months too.

I had 20 eggs, of which only 5 fertilised through ICSI. Only 1 egg survived and she's currently asleep upstairs. Good luck!

I had just three eggs, all three fertilised and, as I was over 40, I had all three put back. Our son is now seven years old and is finally asleep!

First time, I had 7 eggs. 5 fertilised and we put 2 back. BFP and DS is now 4

Second time, we got 7 eggs and only 1 fertilised Put it back on day 2 and were convinced it was a bust...

That's a good response, feel positive! All the best for getting the embryos put back, that's easy compared to what you've been through so far. Try to be relaxed during the 2ww, easier to say than do I know! Good luck and miracles DO happen, mine is 6 already.

That's great. I had 2 eggs, 2 embryos = 1 toddler & 3 eggs 1 embryo = 1 11mo. Good luck xx

I had 6 out of 12 fertilise too and was very down about it when the clinic told me the news (though they weren't). However - 4 of the 6 made it to blast. One embryo was transferred in the fresh cycle and 3 frozen. The fresh cycle ended in a very early miscarriage, but my little frostie baby is crawling in and out of my lap as I type. 6 fertilised is great. The waiting after EC can be the hardest part of the cycle. I hope things go well for you.

6 is fine!! Well done and don't worry. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the figures. Luck of the draw. Hardest thing in the world, but try not to over think it and just pray that one of them settles back in nicely. x
