Hypothalamic Amenorrhea- Clomid success stories?

Hi everyone, I'm feeling really torn. I have just finished taking my first cycle of Clomid and I'm now in for a tense wait. I want to be optimistic, but I have Hypothalamic Amenorrhea and I know Clomid often won't work to treat it. However I have also made lifestyle changes to help (stopped intense exercise, eating more protein and fat).

Has anyone here who has HA had any success with clomid? I want to be optimistic...but I am also wondering if it's pointless and only injectibles will work? Please, I'm really hoping someone with HA has a success story to give me some hope!

Hi, no experience with this myself, but my younger sister had success on her first round of Clomid 2 years ago. Drs also said she had HA - hadn't had periods for years, did lots of exercise (ran half marathon distances daily in 30+ degree heat in the ME!) and was told to cut right down, if not stop and increase her weight. She did that and put on almost 2 stone (peanut butter was her staple snack!) then was allowed to try with Clomid.
She found massive support for those with HA on an American website, as it seems to be much more of a recognised condition there, and she still chats daily with her friends there over 3 years later. I shall ask her what it is called and let you know. Good luck.

Hi just wanted to let you know I was diagnosed with HA despite BMI of 22 and not exercising intensely for a few years. Currently 28weeks pregnant Smile Clomid didn't work for me and I found it so disheartening but first round of injectibles did (menopur) took nearly 6 weeks of injecting but hopefully will all be worth it now! Feel free to pm me if you have questions. Good luck x

I never had an official diagnosis but months and months of no periods and after 21 months TTC I got pregnant on my third round of Clomid. Now in my fourth month. Been a difficult pg so far with HG in but will be worth it in the long run!

I hope you find some success!
