Hi All,

Does anyone have an insight into what the 'optimum' ratio between FSH & LH should be? I'm reading conflicting messages on Dr Google; my GP also wasn't very helpful & didn't seem to think it important to compare the two? My FSH is 9, LH is 8. I'm slightly worried about the FSH level as I'm only 29 :-/

That is a normal ratio - about 1:1 Smile I don't know much about FSH but I don't think it's drastically high, just not optimum. I think they worry more about levels above 9.

Fsh under 11 is good. It's not high it could mean that you will reach over 11 younger than others but even still no one has proven fsh rises in a linear way.
I think your hormone levels are fine - have you had other tests.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, my DSis gave me a great book Zita West; FSH levels are detailed in there - under 6 being excellent, 6-8 normal, 8-10 fair, 10-12 raised, 12-15 severe (or something like that).

I had other bloods done as well & most came back ok with the exception of two - I have raised Prolactin levels (616) and potentially an under active thyroid issue as TSH came back excessive, although T4 was ok. Oestrodial was also on the low side.

This is my first appt on the road to investigating what may be causing not a sniff of BFP in a year of implanon removal. . .I really need to start thinking positive but my default response is to assume the worst :-(

What was tsh?
Ivf clinic wanted under 2.5 for ivf treatment
Cant that cause the raised prolactin?

Also you may find if its raised it keeps going during ivf mine has been up to 4. Despite increasing doses and thats just in 1 year
