IVF catheter test. Can't you DTD before it? Want one last try before IVF!!!

Help! Does anyone know the reason that you have to use barrier contraception before the catheter test for IVF?
I have a catheter test for IVF on Monday (6 days) before starting long protocol and - Sod's Law yesterday brought abundant amounts of long stretchy clear EWCM - perfect stuff - I haven't seen it like this in years!
I don't know if we should just do it and cancel the IVF until later on.

I would assume it's because it could dislodge an implanting blastocyst if you had conceived. When I had mine they also did a saline scan at the same time, using the catheter to inject saline into the womb and look for any abnormalities.

Thanks for replying. I've decided I won't do it. I'll hold out for IVF and take this as a good sign of fertility incase this round doesn't work and we're trying naturally again.

Good luck with it and take some painkiller beforehand; I found it a bit uncomfortable. All the best for your IVF too.
