Could I get Progesterone prescribed to me privately?

So i am TTC after two miscarriages this year. My GP is less than interested, due to my age possibly (39) and the fact that I already have a child so thinks I should be happy with that (I am).

After reading an article today about many European countries being much happier to prescribe Progesterone to help stop miscarriage and in the UK it being very difficult to get. It made me wonder again about whether I should be pushing for Progesterone pessaries if I were lucky enough to conceive again and if so how do I go about getting a private prescription?

I know I don't want IVF or any similar intervention so I'm not keen on going to an IVF clinic or anything. Could I register with a private GP or does it have to be a Fertility specialist?

I am not in the UK so not familiar with your system at all. But I just wanted to let you know that I have found them for sale from time to time on ebay and have purchased them from there.

I am doing IVF and so I get it prescribed to me as part of that treatment, but I wanted more so I can take it for longer than the clinic prescribes it for, due to low milk supply with my first child. And ebay is where I found it!

Best wishes for you. I have a child already too so I understand that the longing is still strong for another even though we love our first to pieces. I really want to provide a sibling for him so he doesn't grow up alone.

I think you would need to show that progesterone is an issue for you.
Like having a day 21 test done to show the levels are low or testing your level once you are pregnant.
Also the theory is that you would have a short leuteal phase after ovulation, less than 10 days. And spotting before period.
It is also possible that age causing genetic error leading to miscarriage.
Things like thyroid issues/ pcos also cause miscarriage.
I think though if you pay privately there is a they might prescribe it
