When to try again

We are lucky enough to have a baby from ICSI. It wasn't without its traumas though- my husband has a very very low sperm count and out of 21 embryos on day 1, we only had 1 left on day 5. I would love love to have another baby at some point and I was wondering a) will my husbands sperm count and quality get worse with age and b) considering our baby is 5 months old, when should we go back to the doctor? Please advise.... X

First of all...congratulations on the arrival of your baby. In terms of when to try again, I think that is something only you and your partner can answer. I understand what a roller coaster fertility treatment can be. So it would have to be when you both felt ready to start the process again.

I think I would at least have a chat with my doctor about whether you husband's sperm might deteriorate as he ages (I wouldn't have thought so) but a women's fertility can start to decrease after 35. If you get more information, you can both then make an informed decision.

hope this helps and good luck !
