Brown spotting: to worry or not to worry?

Last night after I took my progesterone pessary, I realised that I had started bleeding. Not a lot, but enough to make me pretty convinced it has all failed.

After a lot of grieving, angry tears and virtually no sleep, I realised that the spotting had almost completely gone, so I decided to see if anyone else had ever gone through the same thing and still had a successful pregnancy, while using IVF. It turns out, yes, heaps.

Spotting around 10 days after ET (which is where I am now) is common enough that it was one of the predicted search results. It also turns out IVF symptoms ARE NOT like non-IVF pregnancy symptoms (which I really should have expected).

I found this post so, so reassuring.

I'm much less panicked now, although brown spotting still could, of course, mean the embryo is having other ideas. I'm still going to call my ACU in a minute to see what they say, and keep a steady eye on my symptoms. In the meantime, I know there are several others who have either just had their EC or ET and might find that link is useful reading too.

Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone else had a successful pregnancy after spotting?

Hi Greenrememberedhills, that must have been so worrying! Where you undergoing IVF as well? Did you have spotting earlier, too?
