Hi all,
I have been on here a while but not posted much.
We are starting our first IVF cycle at bourn hall with down regs starting Friday.

Now I'm not a big drinker and have cut out alcohol except Friday and Saturday for a year or so but just want to know if I now have to cut it out all together? I enjoy a glass of wine to relax on a Friday and as IVF is stressful enough would rather continue up until EC.

What are people's views/experiences?

Thanks
Sarah

My clinic said you are fine to have a couple of drinks up until egg transfer. I'm sure others might disagree but I think sometimes it's just added stress to cut out things that you enjoy. Good luck x

I've had minimal amounts through my cycles - one or two glasses over the whole month.

Hi there, I'm also at Bourn Hall Smile I've had a little glass here and there, it's easier too than any questions from nosy people. One drink seems to shut them up.

TBH, I doubt 1 or 2 hurts at all and might help if it relaxes you.

I conceived DD naturally during a very boozy month and was drinking daily (unusual circumstances were the cause) up to 6 weeks when I realised I was late. No harm done.

With 2 failed IVF cycles, I went alcohol free.

I think that says it all.

No alcohol helps everyone feel a bit more in control of the outcome but my view is that's just a feeling, not reality.

Hi Euro. I'm stalking you today!
