I have a Beautiful DD conceived naturally 6 years ago.

Been TTC#2 for 5 years!

Had Tests, all ok, now been on Clomid for 5 months - just about to start my last cycle.

We have no money for IVF, and I'm not entitled to it free due to DD.

Is there anything else I can try/do next....?

Are you seeing someone in the private sector?.

What tests have you both had done to date and particularly within the last six months. I only ask as many tests can and do get left off. Any test result over than six months old should be discounted.

Who prescribed clomid and why was this deemed to be of any benefit to you?.

Do you have any diagnosis at all or have they basically told you that you are basically "unexplained" (that could also be because you have not been adequately investigated as a couple).

Sorry to hear you're struggling. Could you look at egg donation (sharing)? This would really reduce the costs of ivf for you.

I'm in similar situation to you. I have a DS who's almost 7 years old. We've been TTC for 5 years, ended with 3 BFP & 3 miscarriages.

I'm starting 3 rounds of clomids in August. Consultant says that it's not likely to help as I'm ovulating but willing to put me on it & I'd like to try it before embarking on IVF. I've been diagnosed with secondary infertility & hence IVF or even donor egg IVF.

My lovely parents are lending me some money for the IVF and I'm having this abroad as it will pay for 2 cycles as opposed to 1 cycle in the UK.

In answer to your question, I would seek to find some money to have IVF overseas.

Best of luck. I know how difficult this is as we have very little savings & without my parents we would be in utter despair.

I've had my bloods taken throughout my cycle. I do only have one ovary, but all my results are 'ok'.
I've also had HSG.
I've also had a miscarriage.

Hubby's sperm has been checked, and although it 'low' it's not 'low enough' to warrant concern apparently.

There so no way we would do IVF - Hubby is happy to stay with 1 child, so is not prepared to pay for any treatment.

I seem to have tried so much, but nothing is working.

I've also had my bloods taken, tubes checked and had various scans. Everything had come back normal apart from an elevated RA factor which I believe could be related to my miscarriages but shouldn't impact on my fertility.

DH also had his sperm analysed and came back ok.

This is why we've been diagnosed as 'unexplained' secondary infertility.

My DH is not happy with me having IVF and put his foot down & said no. Kept telling my that we should be happy with having 1 DC etc. However, once my parents offered us the loan he changed his mind and is now OK with it. Not completely happy but ok as he knows how much I long for a #2. Plus my DS keeps asking why he's the only one out of his class & friends without a sibling.

Hi Tw1nkle - so sorry to hear of your difficult journey to no.2. If you've not done so already would recommend investing in a private consultation with someone very good at a well regarded clinic. Try Fertility Friends for recommendations - ask around for someone who would be a good option given your history, age and location. Just to get someone to spend an hour really looking at your circumstances and giving you an objective sense of your options. IUI is sometimes a lower cost alternative - but may not be suitable. BTW: what is RA? If immune-related, again, would influence choice of consultant. Have done this myself - and it was money really well spent. Good luck.

Twinkle, I think I recognise you from threads years ago, I also have DD 6 ( previous partner) however we are now 3 years trying, same position as you in the needing to pay privately if wish.
I am currently reading a book by Marilyn Glenville, it's title: natural solutions to infertility ( how to increase your chances of conceiving and preventing miscarriage)
My DP has low sperm count and they are not willing to treat as we have had miscarriages (6 ) so this means we get pregnant!
In this book it says that their sperm has a lot to do with miscarriage if low or slightly low.
She suggests lots of supplements for you and him and what they do and why it's important, the standard supplements of pregnacare and wellman conception are not high enough and she suggests the levels they should be to help ( they are much higher)
She had a client with sperm count of 15 million, 3 months later after supplements 125 million.
It also says why our supplements need increasing for fertility boasting.
What I am saying is good read, stuff to relate too, with her saying cure?
We are actually paying £360 and going to see prof quenby next month for NK Cells testing as I feel this may be our issue? Cheaper than IVF and not so sure it would be successful given I miscarry. Prior to having DD I never miscarried but did take 3 years to fall with her.

No advice sorry but I'm in a similar position - have a dd aged 4 conceived no problems
Been ttc for 2 1/2 years now
Been taking clomid for 11 months , next month is my last dose & no luck yet.
I have unexplained secondary infertility
We have our final meeting with the consultant this month & after that we will have to try ivf & fund it ourselves.

I've tried reflexology & acupunture

My parents have offered to help pay for ivf but it's so expensive!!

I've heard great things about serum clinic in Greece & it's much cheaper apparently.

Londonsupertrooper do you mind if I ask which clinic in Europe you're using ?

Tread I've just started looking into European clinics. I'm leaning towards Reprofit and Gennet in Czech Republic.
I've also heard good things about Serum in Greece but it was more expensive than having the treatment in Czech.

Improving health and reducing alcohol can boost sperm quality and quantity if your DH is up for making some lifestyle changes .

You've probably tried everything by now, but what about acupuncture? We used it to support our last ivf attempt and from what I understood from the research I did it can have a positive impact.

Not sure where you are, but if you're in or close to London, Christina Goldoni at the London Acupuncture Clinic is good.

Reflexology is something I am about to embark on again ;-) she was due to come tonight but her son was ill! Go for it. Would you like me to post on here what supplements and the quantities? X

Well done twinkle I think it will give you another surge of hope and positivity as none of it can do you any harm.
We live in Norfolk and have an abundance of people that do reflexology but it's finding one that helps with fertility is the hardest part I found . Have you googled in your area?

LondonSuperTrooper, I was wondering if you'd got started with using a European clinic yet. It's looking pretty definitively like our NHS cycle hasn't worked and we only qualify for the one. We're in the same position financially, so abroad might be the best option...
