Pcos . AMH of 147?
Gottahavefaith14 · 01/05/2014 20:10
So I start my #1 of Ivf this month and have been to see the nurses today she reveled that my AMH level was 147!!! Has any ever heard of a level this high? Xx
Liquoriceallsort · 01/05/2014 22:14
Can't say I have. Better than a very low AMH? Mine is 52. You are in the right hands, they can give you a lower dose of whichever stims drugs they put you on and keep an eye on you.
When do you start? Sorry if you have said on a previous thread, I have lost track!
Gottahavefaith14 · 01/05/2014 22:28
Yeh I suppose your right it's just so abnormally high the nurse actually laughed ! Lol I am on the pill now and start metformin tomorow, I stop the pill 1 week tomorow then will start stimming if base line scan and bloods are okay, I start stimming with menapur and then start injecting with cetrotide to prevent ovulation before the trigger shot , e/c is scheduled for the week 26th may , no down reg for me strangely , it's all a but daunting isn't it?
What's your story are you currently on cycle ? X
Liquoriceallsort · 01/05/2014 22:35
That's good, all systems go! Have you taken Metformin before?
I am on day 5 of Menopur injections alongside Spurecur which I think is the one that puts you in menopause mode. I have a scan tomorrow to check proceedings but likely egg collection scheduled for 9th May.
Gottahavefaith14 · 01/05/2014 22:53
No I have never taken it before , have you ? The. rise warned me about some side affects she said to see how I go on one per day of I'm okay I will take them twice daily u till test day , all very close for you, exiting , is this your first cycle ? How are you finding the menapur ? Sending you look with your scan tomorow , let me know how you get on xx
Liquoriceallsort · 01/05/2014 23:06
Thank you x yes this is the first time for me. The Menopur is fine, I guess I will know more tomorrow.
I was really lucky and had no side effects with the Metformin. I started on 3 a day and had no real symptoms apart from loss of appetite. One piece of advice I had which really worked was to eat most of your meal then take the tablet before finishing the rest. Worked a treat. I also noticed as I was on 3 a day that if I ate in between meals (without taking a tablet) I felt awful after. Not sure if it is connected or a coincidence....!
Gottahavefaith14 · 01/05/2014 23:31
Aw so glad you haven't had many side affects . Thanks for the tip ! I will definatly try that my bmi is on the low side (21) so I Carnt afford to be going off food!! My consultant is always on at me to put weight on which isn't easy for me as I also have IBS!
Fingers crossed for you and your scan Tomorow hope you have many growing follies!! Keep me posted. I bet your really nervous x

Hi Gottahavefaith,
I've just finished my first cycle (well almost haha). I have PCOS & was very high risk for OHSS.
It sounds as though we had an almost identical protocol; metformin, no down regging, Menopur (I started on 150mg) and then cetrotide. At my day 5 scan they said I wasn't responding and should cancel the cycle. We did a bit of research and were pretty adamant we wanted to carry on, so they upped my Menopur dose and I ended up stimming for quite a lot longer than plan. At EC they got...30 eggs haha!! We have 6 embies frozen now (all grade 1 & 2 and A & B from the embryoscope) with another 9 being looked at tomorrow so even though we missed out on a transfer this week because if the OHSS we hopefully have loads of chances for an FET in June/July.
I've felt poorly this week but I'm much better now...moral of the story being high AMH is quite high risk but it isn't all bad :)
Good luck with your cycle xx
Gottahavefaith14 · 01/05/2014 23:57
Wow 30 eggs congratulations ! We are aiming for ten eggs all been well , good to hear success retrieving eggs with this protocol :) I'm so exited to get underway with it but nervous at the same time just expecting not to respond ECt ! Had a poor response to clomid previously I know it's not the same but still worries me ! Did you have any side affects from any of the meds? I bet you were in a bit of pain after retrieving that many eggs ! Chances are with that many on Ice you won't have to go through the full Ivf again !! And thank you for your reply good luck with your transfer in June :) xx

Are you on slow release metformin.
I found the normal metformin awful regular upset stomach. So have now switched to slow release, so much better.
Which trigger were you on brownys
BrownysMrs · 02/05/2014 18:23
Naty I was supposed to have Pregnyl but because my blood levels went way up they gave me Buserelin instead (& some tiny tablets that began with a 'c') lol.
Gottahavefaith I was shocked and surprised about having so many (we found out today we now have 11 excellent quality frosties and 2 not so great but still ok) - I would NEVER go through egg collection again so it's just as well really,we've already said if these don't work we're giving up as I'm finding it all so invasive & painful (to be expected after so many though really).
I didn't really have any side effects at all,a few headaches maybe but I think that could have been stress too!Worst part for me has definitely been the pain/bloating this week, all for the greater good though hopefully :)

HELP! Does anyone have some Menopur I can buy off them today/ tomorrow? I am in Canterbury I can drive anywhere in England with cash if we can agree a price. I am undergoing fertility treatment from a clinic in Spain. They sent me a prescription which Asda got for me but today the clinic has emailed asking me to increase the dose even though I have explained you can't just pop to the chemist & buy it off the shelf especially when it's a bank holiday week-end!! Pretty desperate as have spent a fortune & will miss my window if I do not increase dosage. Please contact me if you can help a woman take her last shot at getting pregnant xx
