How long until I feel normal again?

Hi all

I had my EC on Saturday morning and really didn't expect to feel this poorly. I've had 5 laparoscopies,2 hysteroscopies & given birth twice without any pain relief so I thought I was a tough cookie! They told me I had high OHSS risk and aren't doing an ET this week as planned because of the risk....I just have so much pain (not just in my tummy) I'm struggling even to move around a bit on the sofa. Does anyone have experience of this??

Sorry to hear that, I have no experience but I hope you feel better soon. Have you phoned your clinic? Are you able to take pain relief?

My first ec took me nearly a week to feel better, I was worried but it does calm down, I couldn't even move around or stretch out properly in bed I was worried after second ivf that would feel same but I didn't are you taking paracetamol regularly they told me every 4 hours not to wait till you feel pain but too make sure I take then x

I think we try to forget how painful this journey can be especially with the laparoscopy ops laparotomy etc. then it surprises you all over again!
I was in pain for about a week after EC too, hope you feel better soon

They told me I could take whatever I needed (including diclofenac etc) as I'm not having the embryos put back in but even with all that its not helping...I just feel a bit 'wet',a lot of people seem to get over it quite quickly :-/ x

Everyone is different so try not to worry drink plenty of water moving around abit gently does help and I drank tonic water with black current squash makes you burp which eased the bloating x

Like you say, everyone reacts differently so don't judge yourself against others, just look forward to feeling better. I have a hen do the day after my likely EC, I am now thinking I probably won't fancy going!

Thank goodness you won't have to have it again next month if you are having FET!

I keep thinking that Liquorice....luckily they managed to get a lot of embryos so far too so we should have at least 4 or 5 attempts without having to do this bit again (although I'm hoping once is enough obviously!).

I'm going to Germany on Monday with work so I'm hoping I feel better by then :( thanks for reassuring me I haven't been the only one though!xx
