Help! Dodgy spotting before IVF but no AF:(

I guys,

I'm really hoping someone has got some hope or experience to offer here. We are due to start IVF stimms this week when I get my period. Trouble is, it hasn't shown up. I'm now on cd33! I ve been having brown spotting for about the last 4 days but it hasn't turned into a proper bleed. I did a hpt this morning and BFN so looking like its not due to pregnancy. The issue is that if I can't start the stimms this week we will lose our slot on the embryoscope and will have to wait til May!!! I'm so frustrated! when I want AF to come desperately, she won't!!!!! I'm also wondering if there is another issue now if I'm skipping periods:(

Anything similar happened to anyone else?

The one time I had just one day of spotting and no actual bleed was after I took BCP for one cycle before my IVF cycle. The clinic said this was normal after BCP and I was just to start stims on day 6 after that one day of spotting. Are you taking any medications this cycle in preparation for IVF next cycle? Well, today is one day since you posted so here's hoping AF has arrived full flow today and your mind has been put at ease.

Thanks v much for replying! No am not on any meds prior to the cycle and am still spotting today:( although admittedly it has picked up bit, I can't say it's full flow so I don't really know what to do. The Clinic told me to tell them when I was on cd1 to plan the stims and I really don't know what that would be now, especially if I'm just having a strange month. I'm really scared about missing our slot!

You are welcome for the reply - I just wish I could be more help! But I noticed that no one else had responded and I know how lonely this infertility journey is and am happy to chat. I am currently going through IVF so it is nice for me to have a place to chat as well.

I remember I was advised at the start of a cycle about my husbands sperm issue and us needing IVF. I was so devastated and that cycle was 43 days long when they are always 25-27 days ever since I started tracking. The only thing I can put it down to was stress. And now your cycle is doing the same! I have found some meditation music that I absolutely love on youtube. Am not normally into that hippy dippy stuff but when you want IVF to work and they say meditation reduces stress and increases the chances, you try anything. Perhaps your anxiety is sending your hormones funny? Can't hurt to find a meditation online and lie down now for 10 minutes and relax your body. Then try to keep in that zone for the day and I will do a rain dance on my end to make your period rock up tomorrow full flow!

So what day is the latest that your cycle needs to start full flow so that you don't miss your spot?

Hi again. Latest day is Saturday, and unfortunately still spotting so not looking too good:( I have wondered if its down to stress, but I haven't felt really stressed about it, but maybe I am subconsciously. I've been doing acupuncture for 6months now which I think is helping my stress levels but maybe I need to do more! It's so weird though- I've never had a cycle longer than 35 days so it seems ridiculous that I'd start now, just when I need Af to arrive!
How are U getting on with your IVF cycle?

Yes, normally we are willing our periods to stay away - and the one time you want it to actually arrive, it doesn't co-operate! So if you miss the boat this cycle, you will have to wait one more cycle, and then the next cycle will be IVF?

How is my IVF cycle going? My day 4 IVF scan showed just 5 measly follicles. I have another scan tomorrow and if more aren't growing, will probably get cancelled . I know I will just want to run out to my car and have a good sob and am not looking foward to that heartbreaking gut wrenching feeling that my dream will never come true so I just want tomorrows scan over with!

Well I have given up. We ve missed our IVF slot, I've still not got Af and latest test today (cd37) is bfn ;( in other words, pretty much worst case scenario! Up to yesterday i was still spotting too but seems to have gone now. I'm now wondering if I have a major problem I.e I'm going into menopause or something. I guess I'll have to go to the docs or something at some Stage. Am so frustrated! We should be stimming for IVF now! I need a drink And I'm going to blooming well have one.
