Infertility

Has Clomid worked for anyone in perimenopause ?

I'm 38 and strongly suspect i am in perimenopause, my doctor thinks this may be the case also, although my consultant at infertility clinic doesn't agree. My last day 3 FSH was 11.3 and i did actually ovulate that cycle as a day 28 progesterone test confirmed it. Over a year ago i had an FSH come back at a huge 20 which my doctor said at the time was borderline meno. Anyway the clinic has prescribed me clomid to start with my December cycle(that's if i actually get a period, as they are irregular. Having lots of meno symptoms which seem to be getting worse the past few weeks so wondering if Clomid is going to be a waste of time. Has anyone had elevated FSH caused by perimeno and gone on to conceive with the use of Clomid ?

Wow perimeno at just 22, you poor thing!! So pleased for you that you got to have your 2 children. Just hope the Clomid can sort me out, although being 38 it's not looking good.

I was on Clovis when I conceived dd at 41. I had a miscarriage at 40 and it sent my hormones haywire and I wasn't ovulating properly despite having periods.

I'm having periods but they are irregular, i definately ovulated last cycle as a day 28 progesterone confirmed it. i'm now on day 14 of my current cycle and my digital clearblue OPKs is giving me a'peak fertility result'. Also i done a cheap, supermarket brand OPK and it too was positive. Don't feel as if i'm ovulating though as i have no EWCM, just my boobs have got a bit bigger maybe but that's it.

i'm 43 and like you have lots of perimenopause symptoms. i had fsh of 20 and amh was negligible. i started clomid last november (2012) and got a bfp on first cycle....sadly mc at 10 weeks. I have taken clomid on and off through the year (dh in army and away a lot so i only take it if i know he is going to be around). I have recently moved and my new consultant is happy for me to start clomd again....currently on cd10. Like you my dh has no dc's and I have 3 older children.
