Talk to me about your experiences...thyroid issues and mum menopause at 34

I'm almost 33 and was lucky enough to have DD1 last January after one mc. I've thyroid antibodies, possibly Graves' disease, and have been told this is likely to make having more children more difficult / higher risk of further miscarriages.

Tonight my mum told me (out of the blue!) that she went through menopause at 34. I'm that she never mentioned this before. I'm now thinking of getting the AMH (ovarian reserve) test to inform whether we try for another baby sooner rather than later. For career reasons I'd been planning to wait but am now panicking!! And can't get any info from professionals til next week - any insights / thoughts would be much appreciated

I had my AMH test done today, paid for it privately-£75 and booked it yesterday. Think it's a good idea so you know where you stand eggs wise. Get results on Wed x

Do you have any idea of how reliable the AMH test is j200? Did you have other hormones checked alongside it?

my gynaecologist recommended it so it must be worthwhile and can be done any day of your cycle. You shouldn't have it in isolation though- if you are concerned about menopause your FSH and prolactin are important I think too. I have already had all the blood tests I could have done through my GP (FSH, LH, Prolactin,thyroxine, oestradiol and testosterone) and this was an extra one I wanted before I have my fertility clinic appt (in the hope that I can start treatment ASAP!)
