Infertility
2nd time - referral to NHS Consultant
tryingforsolong · 01/11/2013 16:43
Been TTC for 5 years. 2.5 years ago, we were referred by my GP to see a fertility consultant, who advised us that there were no problems (ie following blood tests, SA) and we should go for IVF. I am now 40 and as DH has a child from a previous relationship, we are not entitled to NHS treatment. We cant afford to go private, but after hitting 40, decided to make a last attempt to see if there is anything available. We have an appt in a few weeks to see a Consultant at a different hospital, but already I know the criteria is still the same, so is there any point in going? Are we wasting our time?

Hi not sure about NHS as they don't seem to bend their rules but if you are prepared to donate some of your eggs some private clinics will let you have a free ivf round- might be worth looking into....good luck x
