Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy next week - any advice/tips?

Hi. I had a lap and dye with ovarian drilling last Thursday and am recovering well. Any questions just ask away!
I was very nervous about the general anaesthetic but it wasn't as bad as I'd imagined, my op lasted just over an hour. I was a bit out of it for a day or so but only needed help standing up from sitting/lying. I'm still off work but feeling ok. My dissolvable stiches are starting to dissolve (annoyingly itchy/pulling sensation) and just a stitch like pain now but could be my ovaries.
It is honestly not as bad as you imagine, and I'm a born worrier with a low pain threshold who has panic attacks when my blood pressure is taken!

Oooh what is ovarian drilling for? Sounds like something on a building site!
Never had a general so very scared! I also wear specs so worried how blind I will be when they take them off me!

Ha, its real name is ovarian diathermy and was done because I have pcos. Does sound a bit scary though doesn't it.
Can't help with the glasses part but honestly it all happens so quick you'll be fine. Lying on the bed in the anesthetic room they put the cannula in (just a scratch) then an anti-sickness drug which made me feel drunk (a weird sensation but nothing too bad), and then I remember the anaesthetists saying they were going to add the anesthetic and me worrying about whether to close my eyes or keep them open so they knew when I was asleep 
and then the next thing I woke up in recovery all done.
You will be fine. The worst thing I'm finding is my stiches that are starting to come out but are really freaking me out - and I'm a biology teacher!

Brilliant blog mindful, wish I'd seen it before my op (yes yes about the chlorinated water, it was horrible!)
Only thing I would add is to take a dressing gown as I walked down to theatre.

I have PCO but they haven't mentioned drilling 
possible endo too!

I don't think they do it that often now, it was my diabetes consultant that recommended I have it done and contacted my fertility consultant. Hopefully it well help after 3 years of ttc!
Positive thoughts, I was thinking the worst (thought I might also have endo) but turned out better than I thought. Apparently a high % get their bfp after a lap so fingers crossed

I've had one! Drugs mean no pain, recovery was 1 month (I was 34) and the real bargain - no more rubbish periods, hooray!! Best thing ever
