Just found out husbands sperm count is at zero

Hi ladies. I'm new here, we have been TTC for around 13 months. I was tested and all was normal, however we were told DH Sperm analysis results today and he has zero sperm. We're devastated and haven't really processed it all yet. We have an app with our GP Monday morning to see what this means and where to go from here. Just thought i'd see if anyone on here has had the same experience. Any advice appreciated. Tx

Don't loose hope there is an op they can do allied TESA surgical sperm collection under a general and TESI (I think) under local and they have found sperm for people where there has been zero hope. They only need one at the end of the day. Having said that my hubby had TESA due to 99% poor morphology and the sperm still fertilised beautifully but genetic factors (despite no genetic cause) have always meant our embryos have failed to embed and further develop.

What I would say is, there are all sorts of mirracles now that were never available once before. Ensure you use a clinic that are Specilaist in such male factors.

Hi mjsmith, hope your GP appt was helpful for you both. How are you feeling, if you don't mind me asking?

My DH has azoospermia too - absolutely zero sperm after two SA. Unfortunately for us, further tests found that even testicular sperm retrieval would have no success as he simply doesn't make them (rather than there being a blockage). Like BeetleBeetle, we found that our GP really didn't know much about the condition but our Consultant (in Leeds) was fantastic. He said it was most probably caused before DH was born.

We went on to have IUI with donor sperm and I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant after our first round. Don't give up hope. We've found being really open with each other has helped us get through (both crying and looking forward to the future). You do discover strengths you didn't know you had. This isn't how we imagined starting our family would be, but feel so lucky that we live in a time when these things are possible!
