Private IVF in South of Spain- any one got any recomendations/advice?

Hello,

We've been trying for a baby for just over four years, suffering from unexplained infertility. After years of tests, chlomid tablets, waiting lists etc we finally got to the front of the queue for NHS IVF literally the month my husband and I were relocating to Andalucía - typical!

I am 33 and we have decided to look at private IVF here in Spain - ideally close to home as my husband travels a lot with work so logistically we think it makes more sense. We have found two private clinics in Marbella (about a 2 hour drive from where we live). One is called CERAM and the other FIV Marbella.

My questions (finally!) are does anyone have any experience or recommendations of using clinics in Spain, are we being short sited only looking at southern Spain and also, what are the key questions we should ask potential clinics?

There is one in Barcelona that is excellent, excellent, excellent. Can't remember name for the life of me and obviously Barcelona wouldn't be your first port of call if you're in Andalucia. They are well-known for having a higher age-limit. A friend just had twin boys two months before her 50th birthday and another friend (younger) is with them now.
If I can get the name of the clinic, I'll post again.

We used the FIV Madrid (fivmadrid.es) not to be confused with FIV Centre, Madrid. We had a donor egg cycle there and now have 2 1/2 year old twin girls. They were brilliant.

I've heard the IVI group are good but not any personal experience of them...yet. Still looking in UK. Our clinic has a 9-12 month waiting list for donor eggs and at my age that's too long a wait. Good luck with your search.
