First off they will go through loads of questions. Then if you haven't already they may send you for an ultrasound and send you for blood tests.. I have been diagnosed with PCOS since feb and I've only just been seen by a consultant.. Who have sent me for blood tests X-rays and all sorts.. But the best thing to do is never google anything they send you for.. Trust me I turned up in a panic.. Take notes or ask them to write things down or ask for guidance sheets.. I now have a folder named "MISSION...BABY" with all appointments and guidance sheets sounds stupid but it what keeps me going..
Hope this helps Thanks

Thank you for replying. Grin
I've had a ultrasound with which I was diagnosed with pcos, then had day 21 bloods & day 2 bloods which came back abnormal. Have they started you on any treatment yet? I'm taking my mum with me as she will ask things I'd forget to ask or stuff I wouldn't think of lol.. It's all a bit scary for me to be honest. Confused

Hi. I've got my 1st appointment in 4 weeks (it would have been sooner, but we're off on a much needed holiday for 2 weeks). We weren't expecting an appointment for another 2-3months so we're quite surprised and suddenly nervous.

We were referred as a couple and the only thing we need to do is come to the appointment together. I'm expecting a lot of questions and being talked through our options and what to do next. I've had loads of blood tests done but H hasn't had any tests yet.

My current mindset is I want to know if there is anything wrong. If it is just a case of keep trying, then I can cope with that, but if it's not possible, then I want to know so we can try to sort it out. Dr thought I might have PCOS but hasn't confirmed or denied it.

My cousin had an appointment and fell preg before it so cancelled.
A friend was prescribed Clomid and fell preg.

Good Luck in your appointment - I have fingers and toes crossed for you.
Smile

No treatment as of yet as still going through my day 2 and day 21 tests... Hubby has got to do sperm test.. But that will have to wait as we are also on holiday to visit my parents on the coast.. I don't know if my tests have come back normal or not... Recently I had an X-ray of my uterus which I know came back normal..

I hope your tests come back okay. The nurse I'm seeing wanted my partner there but as he's in the forces he can't get the time off. My appointment is tomorrow and I'm so nervous.

hi people! just looking for some advice or just someone to talk to about it. i have pcos, been trying to conceive naturally for a yr and a half but not got anywhere, been to my docs and had to get checked for stis, have my blood tested to see if the hormone that tells my body to release an egg is doing what it should, it came back 23 and average is 30 and my partner has to now have his sperm tested before i can be referred to the fertility clinic, im getting so impatient, once the results are back from my partners tests, will it be long before the fertility clinic will see me? when they do finally see me what will they do to help? x

Hiya I had my first appt today. I've ha more tests done which will take at least 3 weeks to come back and my dp has to do a sperm sample before treatment will be prescribed. So I'm looking at a good month before anything starts.

Hi ArmyLovin,
I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3 years ago when we were trying to conceive DD. My memory is a bit fuzzy but I would imagine they will prescribe you with chlomid pretty quickly. Have you done the dye test where they inject your uterus with dye to make sure eggs could get through? I think it's called hycosy or something. With me when they did it the doctor remarked 'it looks like you're about to ovulate'. So I went home, enlisted DH's services and DD was conceived.
I was just about to start on clomid as well so I think what Skysparkle described with her cousin is not uncommon.
Good news as well is that 2nd time around it was a lot easier to conceive and doctor said Pcos was much milder (some small cysts but not many).
I have to say with temping that my temps were all over the place and I think it's because of the PCOS, it can be very frustrating and I don't really think it's worth it. CM with PCOS can be a bit misleading too.

I think advice is to just have sex every three days but if DH is away that might be difficult.

Thanks for the advise spritesoright Smile
Last cycle was the only cycle I noticed ewcm, it was a bit all over the place in terms of cycle days. I should be in clomid by next month hopefully if current tests are okay. My nurse did say about having a ultrasound on my tubes with the dye to check all was okay, as they won't do another laperoscopy as I've had one already. We dtd loads on the days dp is home from the time he arrives to the time he leaves Grinbut my nurse said I'm not ovulating and both ovaries are much larger than normal and covered in cysts.

hi armylovin, glad they've prescribed clomid as that should spur ovulation. My doctor told me at the time that even if they do the blood tests and they're negative that only means you didn't ovulate that cycle, but might ovulate other cycles.
But anyways, at least with clomid you know wnen to dtd and can time it properly. Best of luck.
