pre implantation genetic screening

Hi
does any one know about pre implantation genetic screening? I'm 44 and thought with IVF (own eggs & sperm) if we used this method it should increase our chances of success, but I can't find out which clinic (if any), at home or abroad, has any specialist skills in this area. I don't know where to turn to for advice. I got pregnant last year, but lost it 3 months in. Really sad, but shows things could still work.. perhaps..

There are a few UK clinics that offer this. CARE fertility and some of the London units. Look on the HFEA website www.hfea.gov.uk

I tried the HFEA a while back but they could not supply data for success rates for this process in my age bracket - too few have tried for them to have statistically meaningful results, apparently. I'd love to find some data for European clinics but likewise, I cant find any data. That leaves us with having to make a decision on investing emotionally in £6K+ of treatment on the basis of no independently audited data to tell us what the chances of success are - unless anyone can point me somewhere. Its frustrating and depressing and tiring.

I've used array CGH at both care and our clinic we moved to in London HSFC. But I also know city fertilty do this too.

However last round we have embryoscopy which prevented the need for Areay CGH (genetic screening) and much cheaper £500 instead of £1200 odd.

Embryoscopy vidoes every second of development in the embryos and therefore can select a lead embryo by its division and visual development.

I would only bother using embryoscopy again, as I also get concerned about the impact on the embryo - potential child when cells are taking from the embryo in array CGH.

To the best of my knowledge the Hewitt centre (Liverpool women's and the largest fertility centre in Europe) offer this. I believe it is mainly for couples with known problems. This, plus presumably the relatively small number of patients who take this up, might make any centre related data on success rate relating to the screen, meaningless. Speak to your consultant about whether this embryoscopy could increase your chances. I got so few eggs each time that for me, it would always have been a case of hobsons choice!

Im nearly 43 and have suffered three miscarriages and now am having problems conceiving

Am due to start ivf but don't know where to go for complete chromosome screening

Im interested to hear about embrysocopy too which I had not heard about and wondered if anyone knew if this process was carried out in any of the clinics in London?
