Sperm and Egg Donor?

We have always known that we would need to use a sperm donor as DH's test result came back pretty negative. We have had two rounds of IVF, the last one two weeks ago. Both of which failed, the first time I only produced one follicle but it had an egg which did fertilize but I started bleeding the day before my test. The second time I only produced one follicle again but there was no egg.

Was told today at my follow up appt that my AMH levels are so low the chances are the same thing will happen again so my best option is to use donor eggs as well.

I just wondered if anyone has any experience of using both?

I feel very strange about it all, I had come to terms with using donor sperm and it not being biologically my husbands but know have to try and deal with it not being biologically mine.

Ditto support from fertility friends. Lots of support and lovely people on there who would have been through similar.

I got my head around egg donation and had my dd 2 years ago. I don't even think about it now - she's my daughter and always will be.

With egg donation you may get offered counselling. Take it up. It was very beneficial for exploring your feelings and emotions about it.

Hi, we are currently expecting twins through ivf using donor sperm. We had a great NHS councillor and support group both of which pointed us to the donor conception network.

One of the main couples in Scotland who came to the support group used donor egg and sperm for their first child and a donor embryo for their second.
We have found some of their literature so helpful I definitely think it would help you x

Hi, I was just wondering if you have considered using donated embryos instead of separately donated sperm and eggs?
Many, many people who have successfully had children with IVF still have frozen excess embryos ~ and (I think) that the success rate between frozen/fresh is more or less the same.
IT would probably be significantly cheaper too as you could skip part of the IVF treatment(?)
