What are the chances of success with frozen eggs?

I am 31 and single, recently had an ovarian reserve test done. They told me I have very few eggs left which I kind of expected as my mum couldn't get pregnant again after age 30.

I am therefore thinking of freezing my eggs but from what I've read on line, the process kills a lot of the eggs, so there is a low success rate. The stuff I found wasn't all that well written and I didn't understand it all either. Can anyone fill me in a bit more or point me in the direction of decent information.

I was in the same boat as you, my mum was fully through menopause by 32, so thought it wise at 31 to go privately to have eggs frozen but found out my eggs are of so poor quality can't use them. Anyway when I was researching frozen eggs was shocked to discover the very low success rates, think success rates were in single figures from the thousand of frozen eggs. I think it's such a new process it's still trial and error. It seems using frozen embryos have much more chance of successful pregnancy. Would you consider using a sperm donor and freezing an embryo rather than an egg?

My sis had this done - I think historically the rates have been quite low as it was a relatively new thing, not much expertise etc, but I think science is improving all the time and current rates (although not high) are much better than they were even 5 or 6 years ago. I know its expensive but at least my sister has something as a backup if things don't go as planned.
