Harley street fertility clinic, Devonshire place

Anyone trying to get pregnant, please do not use this clinic. You are better to pay somewhere else than this place, I started my fertility treatment here,it was a disaster . The timings were all wrong, they had no idea what they were doing. Not only did I not get pregnant, I was left out of pocket at triple the cost that should have been a third of it. THey dont mention the extra payments until the final bill, then you get the shock. It's disgusting, how they manipulated me into this. So please read the bills and ask them about the money each time. They don't do any checks either which is very suspicious.
Please use a different clinic if possible

I went to this clinic to donate eggs and found them to be terrible.
I was told I was infertile and had no eggs whatsoever.

I became pregnant the very next month

DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC- you have been warned. You are better off going to City Fertility clinic directly who care about you as opposed to some disingenuous greedy doctor who is only in it for the money despite the caring and concerning exterior that she portrays. HSFC are neither a member of the HFEA or the CQC and seem to be answerable to no one but themselves....save your hard earned money and go to a reputable clinic or consider taking a fertility holiday to another country...the Eugine Clinic in Barcelona does not compromise on quality one bit, does not lie and really does have a 61% success rate !!!!

Hello everyone. I googled London Fertility Centre and came across this thread. The address appears to be the same as HSFC. ie Harley Street with entrance on Devonshire. I am currently looking into freezing my eggs.in fact I've done all my blood tests with them and my period is due tomorrow.

If it's the same clinic owned by Dr Venkat ...avoid it like the plague !!!...

You really should use reputable clinics that are regulated by the HFEA ( there is a list available on their website) -not satellite clinics like The Harley Street Fertility Clinic...double check that this clinic and LFC aren't the same

I cannot believe what I am reading about the HSFC. When I went there in Jan 2013, I had had 13 cycles of iui/egg donor ivf and really thought it would never work. I met Dr Venkat at an open evening & instantly she diagnosed some problems that had been missed previously. Within weeks, I started treatment with even more drugs/procedures than before (eg steroids to treat my high levels of natural killer cells). To my utter amazement, this first cycle resulted in my first positive pregnancy test & I am now an incredibly happy Mother to a one year old baby boy!!!!!!! This would never have happened without the most thorough & knowledgable doctor that I have ever met. All the staff were lovely, helpful & professional. The clinic was very small but they have since moved to better premises I'm sure. I had the embryo transfer at another clinic - but who cares? It stuck & made my baby.
I work in medicine & unfortunately things can go wrong with any clinic - that does not mean that they are bad, they are dealing with human bodies which react differently to drugs etc etc. Medicine is never 100% & is never completely predictable, no
Matter how good the doctors.
I have recommended HSFC to everyone I have ever met who needed help to make a family.

And they are in the HFEA website, everything reported as very good, so ignore earlier comments about that.

having searched Geetha Venkat, the following came up from google hsfc.org.uk but when I went to click on it a warning message came up saying the website would harm my computer. That was worrying, as in , is this the correct person/website.

Out of interest when checking ".org domains" it states for ".org" is for charities to use only, are people getting free fertility or being charged because my understanding is .org is for a charity.

The above gives me concern after the previous comments, however I can recommend : The Midland Fertility Clinic in Aldridge West Midlands if that helps anyone.

Hi has anyone else had problems contacting LFC as I have been trying to contact them for over a month now with no luck..

It is clear that people have mixed experiences of Harley Street Fertility Clinic, my experience was a negative one. The fees are so expensive and you do not get alot for your money. This clinic do not like you complaining or expressing your views on how they could deliver better patient care, after my last appointment I left very upset as the consultation with Dr Venkat was rushed and after when myself and my husband were sent to the nurse, she was rude, arrogant, lazy and could not be bothered with us. We had more questions after we left than what we had before the appointment. You can hear everything the receptionists are saying on the telephone, one of the receptionists took a call from someone who was enquiring about intrauterine insemination and I heard the receptionist say that there were not any nurses available to speak to them at the moment and they would get someone to call them back, there were actually two nurses standing behind the receptionist and it was clear that the nurses could not be bothered to have a conversation with this poor person on the phone. Everything costs money at this clinic, even thawing embryos which is just stupid. I have found a much better clinic, not only are they cheaper but they care and they communicate with each other. The people who have answered the phone at the new clinic have very good knowledge and are very helpful, the receptionists at Harley Street Fertility Clinic barely seem awake and they could not answer any questions that we had. It is alot of money to spend when you are rushed through. I hope this review helps, just because it is Harley Street does not mean it is the best and I am so glad we did not spend serious money there. It was very apparent that we were just money to them and we felt uncared for, please consider that you can get more for your money elsewhere.

Im currently having treatment with Dr Venkat and I have just had it confirmed that I am pregnant, this whole thing has taught me that you could have the best doctors in the world but that wont change how your body will react to the drugs and what will happen when your egg and sperm get in the lab and also what happens if you manage to get as far as an egg transfer, nature will do what it wants to do
I found the care really good from her she works tirelessly and she really does care!

The only criticism I have is that the receptionists don't pass on messages and can take a while for a nurse to call you back when they do get the message.....

Also the clinic is regulated by the HFEA is was all written into our paperwork.

I did feel that all the financial side of it was clearly laid out and communicated you know what you need to pay for if / when something happens during your treatment that doesn't conform to the "norm"

Another vote in favour of Dr Venkat. Without this amazing woman and her fantastic team at Harley Street Fertility Clinic we wouldn't have our beautiful daughter

HSFC is a satellite clinic. Glad you had a positive experience, you are one of the lucky ones'. In my opinion the clinic overcharges, could not give a cahoot and is run my a greedy disingenuous Dr and her son! Strongly recommend that you use reputable clinics !!! My vote goes to the Eugin Clinic/ Barcelona !!!
