Day 2 blood tests

Can anyone help me interpret my day 2 blood results? The doctor seemed a little clueless and information on-line isn't really clear.

LH 3
Estradiol 107

I'm 35, could this be what stops me getting pregnant?

I'm afraid I can't offer any useful interpretation of your results, but when I was looking on-line for information about my own results I realised that part of the reason the information I was finding was unclear was because a lot of the information out there was from the US.

Some of the blood tests in the US use different units of measurements than we do in the UK, which made me panic initially as my results seemed way off 'normal'.

Do you have an appointment with someone who will be able to explain the results properly to you?

Ah-ha! I found my old test results from August:

FSH - 10
LH - 8
Estradiol serum - 168 (range 99 - 448) - I think the unit of measurement was pmol/L (in the US, pg/ml is commonly used).

From what I remember, the consultant told me that the 'range' was what was considered a normal result at the lab. If I remember correctly, a low estradiol result is preferable, as a high result can mean that your FSH levels are being artificially supressed. US websites will say that a much lower estradiol result is acceptable because they are using pg/ml.

My FSH was slightly on the high side, but nothing to be concerned about I was told. I am now pregnant, so it seems they were right.

Thanks for the replies, they're reassuring. I have a follow up appointment in April with the consultant, the gps at our surgery don't seem to know much about infertility!
