Portsmouth Fertility Clinic or Complete Fertility in Southampton, can anyone advise?

Hi all

we are at the very start of fertility treatment after tests from my GP showed that I'm not ovulating. We live between Southampton and Portsmouth so can request to be referred to either clinic. Our GP is keen to send us to Portsmouth, but I think this mainly a funding choice.

I just wondered if anyone out there had experience of either clinic to help us make a choice?

Sorry I don't have any advice on either atm but OH is going for his fertility test tomorrow at QA so will let you know what the service/info was. Also will lurk here for someone more useful to give some info =) Smile

I had my babies at QA, and saw a fertility doctor twice. One was a tool the other was lovely. Not sure if that helps?! Anyway good luck to you Thanks

I have a friend that had ovarian drilling at Portsmouth, she is now pregnant. My sister elsewhere in the country decided to go private due to wait but my friend in Portsmouth was straight in and treated very quickly.

Posting a bit late but wanted to say that I received treatment at Complete and although unsuccessful (sadly, a chemical pregnancy) the clinicians were beyond brilliant in terms of patient care. For what it's worth my GP recommended Complete of the various Hants / Wilts options.

Be aware that Complete practice "mild IVF" which worked well for me both in being less of an ordeal physically and in terms of the number of eggs retrieved. But you will want to look at the pros and cons for your own situation. I believe Portsmouth offer conventional ivf but not sure.

Sorry, obviously you may not need ivf of course. I think that Complete are reputed to get good results (compared to the average) for iui though we bypassed iui so can't really comment

Change thanks for the info, in the end we decided to go for Complete. Now its just waiting for the first appiontment.

Hi,
This post may be too late for you now, but if it's helpful to you, I received treatment at Complete, Southampton. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant after trying to conceive for a few years (endometriosis related issues). My doctor strongly recommended Complete. The centre is fantastic, all staff are amazing and were supportive the whole way through our journey. Good choice and good luck with your appointments too.
