Disposal of embryos :-(

Did anyone else feel sad about this?

We've got our family now, and have hit the five-year deadline.

My DCs are absolutely gorgeous, we are so lucky after 4 years ttc, but the thought of our leftover embryos being destroyed just makes me sad.

It's such a waste. We explored all donation options and got nowhere.

I feel your sadness. Disposal of embryos is one of my main reservations about embarking on IVF.

Are there any options for donating to research or is this not something you would consider?

Having exhausted the option to donate them to another couple, we the. Asked to donate them to research. But apparently there isn't time to get that sorted before the deadline expires. So that's that.

Fortunately my life is busy at the moment, so I don't have too much time to dwell on it, but I have been having the odd wobble.

That should have read "we then asked them".
