Beta tests

Hi ladies
I had a 5 day embryo transfer last thurs. we did chromosome testing and know the embryo was perfect. I had a bit of spotting and the clinic wanted a blood test to check progesterone levels. They also did a beta test, although the nurse said they all thought it was too early, only 8 days post et. It came in at under 1 so now they are saying that is a negative and I can stop the meds. I'm a bit confused. Is it too early or not? I feel pretty devastated needless to say :(

Sorry to hear about your results. Sadly at 8 days post transfer a number of less than 1 is conclusive - you are 8dp5dt (8 days post 5 day transfer) or 13 days post fertilisation. You would hope for a beta of around 70 or higher at this point, although numbers range a lot. Less than 1 means no implantation.

It's just awful when cycles fail. Hang in there.

Thank you for your reply. It is a real struggle dealing with a failed cycle after all the weeks prep and excitement. I didn't really know anything about beta levels but I know I stopped "feeling" different around 4 days ago. Having had ohss symptoms, they suddenly lifted. Nice, but not a good sign, and I think I knew then that something had gone wrong. Off for another little sob but then onwards to the next attempt.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply to me. All best wishes
