We're undergoing ICSI treatment at Guys (1st round last year resulted in bfp then mc early on, FET early this year was a neg result) and this morning our consultant suggested we consider taking part in a trial they're currently running called TROPHY.
Essentially (as I understand) it's to see if hysteroscopies can help with IVF/ICSI success rates. If we get selected for the hysteroscopy (vs being a 'control'), it could potentially be done quite quickly so we can begin treatment when my next cycle starts (Day 1 is within the next week or so).
Has anyone else heard about this? Anyone considering or currently involved and willing to share thoughts or experiences? I've never been involved in any medical trials before so want to find out as much as I can before making a decision either way. We met the consultant leading the trial (we've met him a few times, he's good and understanding!) and he's calling over the weekend to talk to us more.
I understand that signing-up means I might not actually get the hysteroscopy - if that's the case the consultant has suggested a SCS ('saline cavity scan') so we can take it from there. However I need to confirm if we're doing that on Day 1 of my next cycle, so we have the bank holiday weekend to decide.
Sorry this is a bit long - any thoughts or experiences gratefully received!
