My DH has low sperm motility 15 million and we are told we should go for ICSI which we did once but it failed. has any one managed to get pregnant with similar problem naturally!! Is there a way to improve the motility?

Did they identify a cause? Specifically did they check his bloods including prolactin levels? I ask because my husband's SA wasn't brilliant and high prolactin was found to be the cause - that's reversible.
There's some think you can do like him avoiding cycling, no hot baths, boxers not briefs. Is he taking a supplement with zinc and magnesium in them? Eating Brazil nuts is meant to help too! Hth a bit.

How many tests did they do on dh?
My dh did test when took us a while to conceive no 2 and it came back low motility etc. our obstetrician was scathing as said results could vary (ESP as dh has 2 big step kids and I had 3 previous pregnancies).

We did nothing - it took a while but dd 2 did arrive

Hi
Lifestyle can help. We had poor motility & I spent a fortune on Zita West's Vitamen & Vitamen boost. We also cut down drinking at home, but he didn't cut down out. We also ate more healthily. He cut caffeine down as well but still had a couple of cups a day. He also had gout which hadn't been diagnosed and started taking medication for that. Motility went up from 60% to 99% in about 12 months.
Hope that helps
x

My DH has low mobility and anti-sperm anti-bodies. He has cut back on drinking alcohol and caffeine quite a lot. In addition, he gave up cycling and has been taking suppliments for months - 2x male conception, l-arginine, l'carnitine & l-acetyl cysteine, which were all suggested by our consultant. In his last test (2 months later), his results improved dramatically! And now he's doing acupuncture which makes him feel better and should be helping with his immunity issues.

thanks for the comments x I have decided to order lot of supplements l-arginine, l-carnitine, zinc, etc... and I am going to arrange acupuncture too I really do hope these stuff helps his sperm motility.....

I don't know why I have not thought of doing this over the last two years, most doctors straight away say the only option is icsi they dont suggest supplements,etc.. maybe that is why I was so hopeless trying these options!!
