On clomid. 17 days after ov no BFP no AF? WTF!!! Help going insane

I think im slowly driving myself round the bend, ive got pco's. Have a DD who's 3 and BFP in Sept followed by MMC in December.

Provera and Clomid prescribed in Feb, had bit of a period because of the provera so started the clomid, got very heavy period on cd16, phoned gynae - his secretary phoned back and advised start clomid again.

So CD 21 using ov sticks VERY clear positive ovulation. EWCM and temp drop then increase. So i have ovulated - dr's took blood test and iv heard nothing - if i hadfnt ov'd they'd of rung me to increase the dose. 14 days after ov - no period no BFP. No sign of AF arriving. Just BFN's. And iv been testing like a crazed lunatic from day 9 of 2WW..

Surely I should have AF by now if Im not preg and surely id have a BFP if no period!!!!

My question is does clomid delay the period/time to get a BFP???

My poor little brain is fried.

Got period this morning. 18 day luteal phase. Only could happen to me!!!
EWCM yest (which was very confusing) then AF arrived today.

In total 39 day cycle on clomid. Not 28 as gynae advised... Hmmmfff!

Thought id post that in case anyone else has had a similar problem and wanted to know the outcome.

Hi I'm faith. Sorry to hear of your previous loss and that af arrived afterall, ttc really does mess with your head doesn't it?! If you'd like some company on your journey, there's a thread above - the hut of gl/doom, we're those struggling but supportive. The answer to your last question is no. Clomid's main - and only job - is to make the ovaries work harder.

You should also be monitored closely whilst on clomid as it is not always a suitable line of treatment for those with either PCO or PCOS.

Would suggest you not use OPKs at all when on clomid as clomid encourages LH to be produced. The kit will just read that particular reading of LH and thus give you a false positive result.

It may be that you did not ovulate; ewcm and temp drop can be wrong. Only blood tests give definitive proof.

Also there can be a rise in temp in the second half of a cycle when an egg has not been shed so charting is not infallible and this method is certainly more problematic when PCO is an issue.
