I'm a long term poster within conception & though I posted this thread there I there I thought I could also ask for help here too..... TTC for 2.5 years. My husband has been diagnosed with a chromosome abnormality. We've been told IVF with ICSI is possible but we will need PGD.

We're considering private treatment at CARE or Nurture in the East Midlands & I wondered if anyone else had a.) experience of this type of male factor infertility or b.) has had treatment at either clinic.

Thanks

Hiya
My husband has a Robertsonian translocation of chromosomes 13&14. We needed icsi with pgd. We had appts at Guys, Care Notts and ARGC London. What made the decision for us was 1) 12-18 mths wait at Guys; quite a wait at Care Notts (might have been about 2-3 mths) and 2 weeks at ARGC - the waits were to make the probes for testing the embryos and 2) ARGC having the best success rates in the country as well as often dealing with couples who have failed elsewhere - so more problem couples.
We have our dd from our 1st cycle with the ARGC and newborn twins from our 2nd cycle with them after failed cycles at Care Northampton.
Best of luck - it's loads of travelling but I 100% recommend the ARGC - people cycle there from all over the place incl abroad!

Hi
DH also has Robertsonian translocation - we only found out when I was on 2ww for our 1st IVF/ICSI cycle so didn't have PGD (We were at the ARGC too and they said they wouldn't necessarily have recommended PGD for us.) We also have DD1 and twins from 2 ARGC cycles (without PGD). I know that's not really answering any of your questions, but hope that positive stories about similarish situations will help.
We didn't go to any other clinics, so can't offer any advice about that. I wish you lots of luck, and if there's anything specific you want to know I'd be happy to try to help.
